The Early Years Foundation stage

From September 2008 all childminders will deliver the E.Y.F.S as part of their provision and will be inspected against. The E.Y.F.S framework sets the standards for the learning, development and care of the children from birth to the end of the foundation stage, the 31st August after their fifth birthday

The EY.F.S is based on four themes

• A unique child
• positive relations
• enabling enviroments
• learning and development

The fourth theme of learning and development is divided into six areas

• personal, social, and emotional development
• communication, language and literacy
• problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
• knowledge and understanding of the world
• physical development

As a childminder I will be using planning, observations and making assessments on your child which would be discussed with you regulary these will be placed in the childs personal file.
